Carlisle Driver Drunk At Highest Rate Slams Into Truck Parked In Shippensburg: Police

A Carlisle man was highly intoxicated when he crashed into a parked pickup truck in Shippensburg, police announced on Tuesday, March 11.

William Wardle was traveling east on the 600 block of East Orange Street when he veered off the road and slammed into a legally parked truck on Saturday, Feb. 8, according to Shippensburg Police.

Wardle’s blood alcohol content was 0.091g/100mL, exceeding Pennsylvania’s highest rate DUI threshold, police said.

He was charged with DUI: General Impairment, DUI: Highest Rate of Alcohol, and Roadway Lane Violations, according to court documents.

The case remains active.
